For the past few years now I have been watching the television show Big Brother. Big Brother is a show on CBS, where they lock 16 people in a house and they compete for $500,000 dollars. While living together they are being recorded 24-7, there are cameras all over the house. Not only are they being recorded 24-7, but they also have no internet access, no technology, and they don't even get a phone call to talk to their family. Each week the houseguests compete to be the Head of Household (HOH) for the week. They compete by doing competitions. The competitions could go on for hours, and there is also a different competition each time, whether it be testing the houseguest strength or testing their knowledge of what is going on in the game. The Head of Household then has power for a week and also has access to the cameras (to watch what is going on downstairs), they get a care package full of their favorite snacks and drinks, a letter from their family, and a private bedroom featuring a king sized bed and a private bathroom. The Head of Household also has the power to nominate two people for eviction. After the nomination ceremony (where they are nominated) they can compete for The Golden Power of Veto (POV). The people that compete in this competition are the HOH, the two nominees, and three other houseguest chosen from random draw. The winner of the Power of Veto then has the power to save one of the nominees from eviction or they can just keep the nominations the same. Then the two nominees stand before the other houseguests and tell them why they should stay in the game. After listening to them, the other houseguest then go into the Diary Room (DR) and they vote on which nominee they would like to go home. The HOH is not able to vote except in an event where there is a tie. After this, Julie Chen (the host of the show) appears on a TV and gives the news of which houseguest will be leaving The Big Brother House, the nominee that has been evicted then has a chance to say goodbye to the houseguests, grab their bag, and walk out the front door. This show goes on for about three months and houseguests are evicted one by one, sometimes they even have a double eviction, which means that two houseguests will leave in one night. What makes this show even more interesting is that the houseguest also form alliances and showmances. Alliances usually contain a few people and these few people will work together to get the people they want out evicted. Showmances are relationships that happen on television. Throughout the season there are always twists, some may include: returning players from previous seasons, battle of the block (where the first five evicted houseguests have a chance to come back into the game), twin twists (where there is a set of twins in the house that switch every few days without the houseguest knowing), and many more! This show has been going on for about 19 seasons now and I have been entertained through it all! If I have persuaded you into trying to watch this show I hope you enjoy! If you do end up watching this show, please be sure to click the connection tab and send me a message about how you felt.
